Goodmorning Everyone!
We are on our way back home- we just made a stop in Valentine, Nebraska to switch drivers and get some breakfast at McDonald's. We are making pretty good time now- we are so glad we have good drivers to help make our trip safe. Sorry I was unable to post a blog yesterday we were busy from the moment we got up at 6:00 until the moment we left! So I will give you a recap this morning.
Yesterday we shared in breakfast together- that is always a fun time of fellowship and is filled with lots of laughs too! After we split up into our senior high and junior high sessions for the last time once again being led by Pastor Boe and Pastor Unverzagt. We have been so blessed to hear God's word through these two pastors who have a passion and desire to preach and lead people to Christ. At 10:00 everyone then took part in FLY election process as we voted for who we wanted to be on the FLY 2013 Committee! We are happy to announce that Pastor Boe will be the President for the 2013 Committee! He will do such a great job! :) After elections we took part in our final elective session for the week. There have been so many great speakers this week who have shared God's message through personal experience, tragedy, through digging into the word of the Bible! The topics of the electives were areas of concern in our society today and discussed current views of the world. After our electives we enjoyed lunch and soon after the girls got ready to participate in the volleyball tournament. Even though we didn't make it past the first round for both teams we had the best looking t-shirts and were able to celebrate God's word through fellowship together! After we got a little exercise in from volleyball a few of us then made their way down to the stables and took part in horseback riding up the mountain! This time we finally were able to go! Attempt number two was successful :) We went on a 1 hour trail up the mountain it was such a beautiful sight! We shared in a lot of laughs as our wrangler for trip in his southern drawl said, "I got a horse for you today named ______ " Next time you see Pastor Mark ask him to imitate the wrangler! He does a great job :) haha Just as we got back from our 1 hour horseback trip it started pouring! We waited a while until the let up a bit and took a sprint back to the camp! It sure was a cold, windy rain. We got back just in time to grab supper and then finish packing! We were able to get everything all packed on the bus and then head up to the last evening service provided by Pastor Todd Erickson. Pastor Todd Erickson is the current president of Heritage Christian Academy in Maple Grove, MN. His spoke on "Going Home, Now What?" from the book of John 21. His focus was on keeping God's faith after we leave camp and discussed the importance of having life in Christ! It was a very moving message as reality set in that many of us would soon be leaving for home and will have to go back to the "world around us" that will challenge us to stay strong and committed into praying, reading the Bible, and living out a Godly life! But with God's strength and love we know that we can stay focused into living a life only for him! After our evening session we had a final NightLYF session that was filled with another "Minute to Win It", Grandpa Mikey's storytime, and time of song and praise! We soon boarded the bus and pulled out of the YMCA of the Rockies at 11:00 P.M. Mountain time. We are a little tired today but hopeful for all that God has to offer and provide to us today!
Please keep us in your prayers as we make the last little stretch home! Stay tuned for more pictures to be posted after we arrive back home! :)
